David Connelly
Chief Executive Officer, Cmed Group
David Connelly has over 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and CRO industry in areas including clinical trial design, operations, monitoring, biostatistics and data management. Dr Connelly also has extensive experience of working with top pharmaceutical company executives in process re-engineering, performance and change management, design and deployment of new technology. Before founding Cmed in early 2000, Dr Connelly was Global Head of Data Management at Novartis. Dr. Connelly has a PhD in Pharmacology and has lived and worked in the UK, Switzerland and the US.
Timothy Corbett-Clark
Chief Technical Officer
Timothy Corbett-Clark is the leading technical force driving Cmed’s cutting edge Timaeus system. This has given rise to a world class solution which, according to experts at several of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, has unique “bottom line” benefits in today’s marketplace. Dr Corbett-Clark has a first class honors degree in Engineering and Computing Science from the University of Oxford. In addition to being a “Scholar” and winning numerous prizes, he also completed his doctorate at the Oxford University Engineering Department. His D.Phil. thesis progressed understanding in rigorous approaches to Explanation from Artificial Neural Networks, and involved novel ideas in the areas of statistics, modeling in high dimensional spaces, computer science algorithms, and software development practices. Dr Corbett-Clark was a co-founder of Third Phase Ltd, and joined Cmed in February 2002 when Third Phase Ltd was acquired by Cmed and became Cmed Technology Ltd.
Andrew Griffiths
Chief Operations Officer, Cmed Group
Andrew Griffiths has over 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical and CRO industries. Before joining Cmed in 2004, Dr Griffiths served as Senior Vice President, Clinical Pharmacology at ICON Clinical Research. At ICON, Dr Griffiths also worked as Vice President, Business Development (Europe) and Head of European Operations. Before joining ICON he held posts in Programme Management and Clinical Research with Boots Pharmaceuticals and Abbott Laboratories respectively. He has extensive experience of drug development and the design/management/conduct of clinical research in most therapeutic areas in many geographic locations (Europe, US and ROW). Dr Griffiths has a PhD in Clinical Pharmacology and has lived and worked in the UK and US.
Mac McElroy
Chief Executive Officer, US
Mac McElroy formerly served as Executive Director of Strategic Development, Americas for Chiltern International for over two years. Prior to this he was Vice President, Corporate Development for six years and was a member of the Executive Management team of CTMS, Inc. McElroy holds BA and Master’s degrees from King College and Vanderbilt University respectively. In his early career McElroy grew his management experience by successfully opening and establishing new long term care facilities. Later he spent ten years as Vice President for Institutional Advancement for a private liberal arts college.
Gareth Hughes
Vice President, Business Administration
Gareth Hughes has over 15 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, consulting and CRO industries. With a background in data management systems and technical support services, Mr Hughes has been a business owner since 1997, when he formed his own consultancy providing technical support and special project services to big Pharma clients in Europe (including data management and SAS programming resource). In 2000, the consulting company came together by friendly acquisition to form the consulting division within the Cmed Group. Mr Hughes has held the positions of Director, IT Operations, CEO Cmed US and more recently Head of Corporate Information.
Alan Eggleston
Vice President, Strategic Account Management
Alan Eggleston has more than 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical and CRO industries. Dr Eggleston is a qualified physician who, over time, has made the transition across the industry from the technical side (Medical Adviser for the Wellcome Foundation and Medical Director (SEAsia) for Sandoz) to the commercial side (Marketing Manager for the Wellcome Foundation and GlaxoWellcome). In September 2007 he joined Cmed from PPD, the world’s largest, publicly quoted CRO, where he was VP, Business Development for Europe and ROW.
Stephanie Langouet
Vice President, Global Biometrics
Stephanie Langouet joined Cmed from Amgen, a leading international biotechnology company, in April 2009 as Global Head of Biometrics. With degrees in Physiology and Computer Science obtained with Honours, she started her career in Data Management and has been in Global Head positions for the last 12 years based in Norway, UK, Canada and US. Her range of responsibilities covered Biometrics, Computerized System Validation, Process Management, Compliance and General Management. She has worked for Pharmaceutical, Biotech and CRO organizations.
Andrew Kellett
Chief Financial Officer
Andrew trained at one of the top accountancy firms, Coopers and Lybrand, and brings a strong track record in financial management, operational leadership in diverse, global companies, as well as extensive experience in driving strategic growth, corporate development activities, mergers and acquisitions. His most recent positions have been in the life sciences/health care sector where he was the European Finance Director and Global Controller: clinical trials and pharmaceutical business development for US based Quest Diagnostics Inc and for the last four years as Finance Director at Genetix Group plc, which was acquired by the Danaher Corporation in a £63m deal in January 2010.
James Haughwout
Vice President of Commercialization and Operations
Cmed Technology’s James Haughwout is Vice President of Commercialization and Operations for Timaeus, a unified distributed eClinical platform that has been built to respond on-demand to the needs of investigators, data managers and study teams. Over the past 17 years, James has produced software and information systems used globally by more than 130 million people and 400 enterprises. In addition, he combines business process reengineering with advanced technologies within the biopharma industry to transform capabilities in clinical data and submissions management.
